Grunt Gundam by HobbyV Grunt Gundam by HobbyV
RX-79 (G) Gundam
a.k.a. Ground Gundam
E.F.S.F. First Production Mobile Suit

One of my favorite Gundam designs from my favorite Gundam series: 8th MS Team

It,s beefy and cool, and that's one hell of a gun!
the kit was a more pleasant build than the Gouf Custom too.

That's okay. I'm a little slow on the reply myself.

I've been working on the plans for a HGUC custom of the good old Gundam Ground type, so I've been browsing the internet for inspiration, regardless of grade.

I was dreaming of a model and colors just like this! Except it had dual rabbit-ear masts pointing out in place where the v-fin would be, with chest cannons on each side, and tile armor on the ankles. This ones awesome!

I'm not sure how to answer your question.

Are you familiar with gunpla?
Or are you already a modeller and want to know how to paint and weather your kits?

yes. it's lots'a fun!

I'd suggest you to buy a "High grade" model and some basic tools (an 'xacto knife, pliers, file and sanding paper) to start. HGUC line are very cool, relatively simple and so a very good place to start. You don't need to paint your first models too. They come molded in color.

but before you begin to actually build any models, anything that i'd say here will be very abstract.
after a couple of those, you'll want to paint your models too. i'll help you as much as i can then ^_^

whats HG? and 1/144?

HG is a line of Gumdam related models from Bandai. They are entry level models. Cheaper than Master grades. They mostly come in 1/144 scale. Most of them are 12-14 cm tall. Master grades are 1/100 and 20-25 cm or bigger.

HGUC means High Grade Universal Century. Models from the original gundam series and it's spinn-offs. They are the best of HG models in my opinion.

Well, it's called that, since this is a mass produced ground combat model.
It's no GM, but still, they did field these in numbers.

BTW, WATCH 8th MS Team if you haven't already. It's the best!

I know the 1/100th Red Frame HG was close to a MG in posability

I used to PLay 40K but got out after they Screwed up all the rules, I loved to origional Codex Eldar, But by far My fave was good old Realms of Chaos Book.

I liked that series too.
They got down and dirty gundams.
That's the problem with the new series; the gundams are god-like indestructable machines.
No, they're walking tanks....they should be dirty and grungy.

I haven't even seen the last one yet....
And I'm also ranting against the giant shoulder and backpacks they've got now, they're all top heavy, and look outright silly.
Real people couldn't even walk in/with those if they made then out of cardboard, without falling over.
And they're all spikey and indestructable, and never ever get a single scratch or dent on them.
They're gone beyond silly of late.

In the 8th MS, the foot didn't work. They broke down. That's the fun of it.
In Gundam Wing they blew up the Wing 7 episodes in!
Even mom was dumbfounded by that one: "What!?! How do you sell toys if you get rid of the main starring toy? That's stooopid."

Yes, the new series will be "interesting" to watch.
